Model [ DR 1048M403]Dr.Martens MARTEL SMOOTH SHOES BLACK DR1237The origin of the Creeper goes deep: first appearing after World War II, when soldiers rocked sturdy, crepe-soled military issue boots at London clubs—and did a dance called The Creep. In the 70s, the shoe’s distinctive look was adopted by various subcultures, including punk and goth. Fast forward to today: the Martel Goth Creeper is based on an original from our archive dating back to the formative years of the Goth subculture. We took the look and refined it, with a subtly pointed toe, paisley embossed leather and silver buckle—and of course, classic Doc DNA in the form of our air-cushioned sole. The Martel Goth Creeper is made with our iconic AirWair Bouncing Soles, that are oil-and-fat resistant with good abrasion and slip resistance—and have been since 1960. The boot is Goodyear welted, meaning the upper and sole are sewn together in our heat-sealed z-welt stitch for enhanced comfort. The Martel Creeper comes in Smooth, the classic durable Dr. Martens leather with a smooth finish, with blocks of Paisley Smooth, a high-shine, fully-pigmented leather embossed with a classic Paisley design.
